Australian Design Radio
Christopher Doyle & Co.
Rob Duncan:

Really lovely identity for Australia Design Radio by Christopher Doyle & Co. The shape of Australia is represented by the visual language of graphic equalizers. When the radio station is on-air then the graphic equalizer moves, then returns to the shape of the continent when off-air. Simple, clever and beautifully crafted. Definitely want one of those T-shirts.

Laura Knox Identity
Ragged Edge
Paul Felton:

A nice new identity from Ragged Edge for drinks photographer Laura Knox with a clever, simple marque at it’s heart. Laura’s initials are cleverly abstracted to create the mirror and prism cross section of a SLR camera.

Silo Theatre 2016
Luke Robertson:

New Zealand’s Best Awards have announced their finalists for 2016. As always it’s an impressive showcase covering graphic, interactive, product and spatial design.

Alt Group’s identity for Silo Theatre takes center stage in their latest campaign.

Boxes in Boxes
Sutherl&
Rob Duncan:

Studio Sutherland has produced a beautiful set of interlocking boxes for Boss Box to demonstrate the range of packaging they have available. An extremely clever use of the children’s rhyme ‘There was an old lady’ playfully leads you through the collection. A clever idea, beautifully crafted. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Mastercard
Pentagram
Rob Duncan:

A clean up of possibly the 2 most famous circles in the world. The temptation of making a stand and changing for the sake of change is enormous for designers. The proper thing and the humble thing to do is exactly what Pentagram did. Make an icon more iconic, and give new tools for the brand to express itself. Putting egos aside they did exactly what the brand needed.

Arrels
Pepe & Javier Llaudet
Tilman Sole:

Arrels, which means “roots” in English, is a Barcelona based footwear brand created by two cousins: Pepe and Javier Llaudet. The brand has two concepts: the countryside and tradition on one side and the city and innovation on the other. Their motto is “upbeat shoes”. They co-create their collections with illustrators, musicians, graphic designers or perfumers. With care and detail, like every artisan, they create unique shoes.

Electric Coffee Co
Here Design
Jamie Ellul:

Here Design’s new identity for the Electric Coffee Company came from the founder’s desire to light up the world of coffee. The team took inspiration from old electrical circuit designs – with their electrons, conductors and resistors – the result is a singular idea that drips down from the logotype into every application effortlessly. Joined up thinking.

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
Manual
Christopher Doyle:

I’m really enjoying this identity for the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts by Manual.

The core of the identity is a container device (that houses the YBCA acronym) that takes its shape from the Center’s geographic position. The device is paired with bold typography, playful messaging, imagery and bright colours and there’s an enormous amount of flex and variation ensuring each application feels unique, energetic and fresh.
